Swiss glaciers are in danger

Abnormal heat is most dangerous for glaciers. The high temperatures in early summer melted all the snow cover that protects the ice by reflecting the sun’s rays.

As recently reported, the amount of sea ice around Antarctica is at an unprecedented low. Typically, the annual maximum of ice is reached in mid-September, but the current amount is much lower than in the past. This indicates very worrying implications for the Earth.
