In the nebula MSH 15-52 at a distance of more than 16 thousand light years can be seen a strange cosmic spectacle resembling the arm of a giant skeleton. American aerospace agency recorded this phenomenon after 17 days of continuous focusing of the most technologically advanced telescope IXPE, using X-ray beams. The ghostly hand, according to scientists, represents clusters of energetic particles emitted by neutron pulsar stars.
Charged particles generating X-rays propagate predominantly along magnetic field lines and determine the shape of the formed nebula. In this case, the strong magnetic fields are distributed in such a way that the final image in the X-ray spectrum looks like the arm of a ghostly skeleton.
