William Sharpe is a British actor, writer and director of Japanese descent, so we’re still in for a heated debate as to whether it’s appropriate for him to play the Austrian musical genius. If we don’t take into account such conventions as physical differences, Sharp is an excellent actor, whose worldwide popularity came only after the second season of “White Lotus”. In addition, he is an original director, and with a clear author’s style: his film “The Cat Worlds of Louis Wayne” and the series “Gardeners” bizarre and surreal journeys into the depths of human consciousness, existing on the edge of genius and insanity.
